Pr. Abdelhay ARAKRAK obtained his PhD thesis in 1989 at National Polytechnic Institute, Nancy, France, in Agronomic Science. He worked at Ibn Zohr University (Agadir, Morocco) as assistant professor in 1990. Currently, he is full professor at Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Tangier; University Abdelmalek Essaadi since 1997. He supervised 6 PhD theses and 6 ongoing supervised PhD theses. Research focused on study and use of rhizosphere microorganisms: Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) or Rhizobacteria that promote plant growth, Rhizobium and endomycorrhizae. Member of the Biotechnology and Biomolecular Engineering research team (ERBGB) since 2009.He published more than 30 publications in international journals, 8 chapters, 1 patent. Member or principal investigator of more than 9 national or international research projects (Protars, Junta de Andalucía, CSIC, FIS, PCI, CNRST-RS, PPR2, Académie Hassan II, Erasmus+ (Mabiova, DAFRALI…).

Research Areas:

Agriculture microbiology, rhizosphere symbiosis (Rhizobial, Mycorrhizal) and plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR).

Current N-related Projects:

Diversity of symbiotic associations (rhizobial and mycorrhizal) and PGPR for the revegetalization of marginal zones
