Biography:
Holding a doctorate in biology and plant physiology, obtained in 1986 at the University of Science and Technology of Nice (France). Research professor in the Department of Biotechnology of the University of Oran in 1987. Head of Biology Department until 1997. Responsible of post graduation and External Relations Department of Biotechnology until 2005.
Chairman of the Scientific Council of the department of biotechnology and member of the scientific council of the Faculty of Science. Member of the Scientific Board of the National Centre of Scientific and Technical Research in Dry Areas (CRSTRA) until 2004. Founding member of the Algerian society of Microbiology (SAM).President of the Annex CRSTRA western region until 2004.
Founding network member Mediterranean research on biological nitrogen fixation (FABAMED). Coordinator Algerian researchers from the same network.
Project leader on improving production and nitrogen fixation in forage legumes in arid zones, approved by the Research Center Scientific and Technical arid (CRSTRA). Director of two CNEPRU projects. Associated partner in a European BACDIVERS (QLK-CT-2002-02097) project. Associated Partner at AUF project involving Algeria, Niger and Senegal. Responsible for post graduation “exploitation of plant-microbe interactions to improve agricultural production and environmental protection” since 2005. Responsible for the LMD project validated in 2005 by the High Council Franco-Algerian University and Research in collaboration with the UMR LSTM-Montpellier, France.
Carrying a young team project associated with the IRD since 2007 and CMEP Tassili project since 2010 in partnership with the IRD Montpellier. Partner ENVIMED a project in collaboration with MR ISA Nice Sophia Antipolis.
