Project Summary: Using Hawaii as a model systems, and the diverse forms of traditional Hawaiian agroecosystems as an exemplary practice, we examine symbiotic and asymbiotic nitrogen fixation in human managed ecosystems and agroecosystems along the significant climate and soil gradients represented by the Hawaiian archipelago.
