Name:

Ana Laura Furlan

Job Title:

Researcher-Assistant professor

Email:

Biography:

I graduated in Biology (2009) and as a Doctor in Biological Sciences (2014) in Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto (UNRC) . Currently, I am a member of a researcher career of the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) in Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto (UNRC), Córdoba, Argentina since 2016. I am also an assistant professor in UNRC. I had always work in the field of agricultural sciences, in the past I studied the physiological, biochemical and molecular variables in the symbiotic association peanut-Bradyrhizobium sp. exposed to drought stress and rehydration. Then, the carbon and nitrogen metabolism in peanut cultivars with differential tolerance to drought. Currently, my goal is to elucidate strategies to improve the development of the peanut-Bradyrhizobium sp. interaction in arid regions by biostimulants and osmoprotectants. I have knowledge of techniques of: microbiology, plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and metabolomics. These achievements were possible by collaborations with research groups from South Africa, Germany and Argentina. I completed internships and projects supported by national and international organizations such as the Department of Science and Technology (DST) from South Africa, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the MInistry of Education (ME) from Argentina.

Research Areas:
