Biography:
MSc in Agronomy 1992, PhD in Microbiology 1998, Associate Professor in Microbiology 2005, Professor in Microbial Ecology 2011, Professor in Soil Microbiology 2012
My research area is ecology of functional communities in the nitrogen cycle. The work ranges from theoretical studies examining genomes, fundamental questions in community ecology based on experiments or natural gradients and applied research with relevance for agriculture, climate, and the environment. The aim is to understand relationships between the ecology of the microbial communities, the biogeochemical processes they perform and the corresponding ecosystem functions.
Research Areas:
- Microbial ecology
- Nitrogen cycling
